Annual Christmas in July Festival

Located in the mountains, Ashe County’s longest-running festival, Christmas in July opens on Friday at 5 pm with a full lineup of entertainers and food vendors, making downtown West Jefferson the perfect spot to spend Friday evening. On Saturday, arts & craft vendors, specialty food vendors and local non-profits open at 9 am. The festival extends throughout the downtown area along Jefferson Ave, with sidewalks clear for walking and browsing the shops. Ashe County Arts Council hosts children activities; performers rove the streets showcasing their magical talents; and Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive straight from the North Pole! A great lineup of entertainers take the stage to perform throughout the festival, playing traditional mountain, contemporary country, rock, jazz, and beach music. The Christmas in July Festival celebrates Ashe County, a leading producer of Christmas trees and our mountain heritage with arts & crafts and local entertainers representative of the region.
