Join the fun as seasoned kite flyers create sky art at the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area for the 20th Annual Cape Fear Kite Festival. This is the final kite event of the professional kite flying season with much more than average kites filling the sky! See incredible shapes, sizes, styles and of course colors float, soar and ride the air. In addition to the sky entertainment you'll find live bands, food trucks and other vendors on the grounds.
The fun doesn't end when the sun sets. Grab your glow sticks and stay for Carolina Beach Aglow, where you get to enjoy lighted ground displays like inflatable bouncing crabs, glowing jellyfish and huge bubble waves. Then, dance the night away alongside the kite flyers dressed in whimsical LED costumes for the ultimate neon dance party on the sand.
