Experience one of Fayetteville’s most meaningful traditions at the North Carolina Field of Honor, a powerful display of patriotism and remembrance set against the backdrop of downtown Fayetteville. Since 2005, thousands of American flags have transformed the Parade Grounds into a moving tribute honoring active-duty service members, veterans and first responders, in addition to heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Each flag tells a personal story, bearing the name of an individual honored by a family member, friend or community supporter. As visitors walk among the rows of waving flags, they are invited to reflect on the values of courage, service, and unity that have shaped our nation and continue to inspire future generations.
Make time to explore Greater Fayetteville during your visit, including the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, downtown shops and restaurants, and other local attractions. The Field of Honor is an ideal addition to a weekend getaway or extended stay.
