On September 13th and 14th for the the 40th year the Stokes Stomp breezes into Danbury. For two days, Danbury is transformed from its quiet roots by a robust mixture of bluegrass music, artists exhibits, food, fun on the river and a general all around good time. The event takes place in and around Moratock Park in Danbury and is kicked off by a parade that includes lots of local talent. There is entertainment for all ages, including an area created especially for the children. This is a free event sponsored by the Stokes County Arts Council. This years event is headlined by The Lonesome River Band on Saturday and John Cowan on Sunday the 14th. If you or a music fan the banks of the upper Dan River is the place to be for a wonderful late summer treat

Admission: The event is free of charge
