"Coriolanus" by Shakespeare

  • John Russell, Managing Director

  • 92 Gay Street
    Asheville NC 28801

The Montford Park Players, North Carolina's longest running Shakespeare Festival, presents, for the first time, Shakespeare’s rarely performed Coriolanus. This epic, war torn tragedy originally takes place in Ancient Rome, but director Scott Keel has transported the play into a fictional time period where steel and fur meet leather and bone. An opening night champagne reception will follow the opening night performance on Friday, August 29, and regular Saturday Q&As will be held before the show from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. in the audience, with production staff members and actors available to talk about the show and answer questions.

Admission: Performances are free and donations are gratefully accepted!
