The Sixth Annual ColorFEST will be held in the historic town of Dillsboro. Located just a few miles off of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the walk-about mountain town, now 125 years old, is a perfect place to showcase authentic works of the hand. Dipping back into its history, Dillsboro flourished in the late 1800s as a railroad town, and is still on the route of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. ColorFest will feature over 40 booths of artists, crafters, literary works and entertainment. “Visual arts are a crucial component of education at any age,” says David Marker, director of the festival, “and with this festival, we wish to foster an appreciation for all arts and crafts, plus our historic town. Add the autumn colors, exceptional food and fun to the education component, and you’ll have a great day here in Dillsboro.”
