An engaging destination in its own right, the North Carolina Transportation Museum offers unique Carolina adventures every fall, with train excursions to other great destinations in the Southeast.

This year, the museum hosts The Blue Ridge Special to Asheville, N.C.

This trip heads west, passing through the small towns of the Piedmont region. The historic train will wind around mountain curves and through tunnels on its way to Asheville. At points along the journey, the curves of the Appalachian track will allow passengers one-of-a-kind views of the train itself, as it wraps its way around the mountains. Once arriving in Asheville near noon, passengers will have nearly three hours to explore Biltmore Village with its fantastic shops and local boutiques.
