Cape Fear Kite Festival

Come watch as serious kite flyers share their sky art at the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. This final kite event of the season has fanciful kites filling the sky, with kits flying on all three days. See incredible shapes, sizes, styles and of course colors float, soar and ride the air above the shoreline. Starting on Friday night, glowing kites light the sky above the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. The weekend continues at Kure Beach with Giant Kite Flyers, sport kiters, live music, a variety of food trucks and breweries with goodies available for purchase, a kite decorating tent and more.
